Acceptance And Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT emphasises on accepting one's thoughts and feelings while committing to actions aligned with personal values. Mindfulness and behavioural strategies are used to enhance psychological flexibility. ACT also helps individuals to identify their values and translate them into specific behavioural goals.

ACT Treats: ACT can be used to treat a wide range of mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, chronic pain, and people who feel stuck. 

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are all interconnected. Treatment focuses on identifying and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviours. It aims to change cognitive distortions and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

CBT Treats: Depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and insomnia.

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

IPT explores individuals’ perceptions and expectations of relationships and aims to improve communication and interpersonal skills. It aims to alleviate distress by addressing relationship issues and life transitions.

IPT Treats: Depression, grief and loss, interpersonal conflicts, and eating disorders.

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

CFT aims to develop self-compassion and cultivate a kinder relationship with oneself. It incorporates mindfulness and cognitive-behavioural techniques.

CFT Treats: Shame, self-criticism, trauma, and anxiety.

Attachment Based Therapy

This modality explores the impact of early relationships on emotional well-being. It aims to enhance secure attachments and improve interpersonal relationships.

Attachment Based Therapy Treats: Relationship issues, emotional dysregulation, trauma, mood disorders, and personality disorders.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

DBT combines cognitive-behavioural techniques with mindfulness. It helps individuals regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and improve interpersonal effectiveness.

DBT Treats: Emotional dysregulation, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), depression, anxiety disorders or self-harm behaviours.

MI is a collaborative, goal-oriented conversation style. It aims to strengthen motivation for change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. This works by encouraging people to take responsibility for their own progress and growth.

MI Treats: Substance abuse, addiction, and behaviour change.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

It helps clients become mindful of their thoughts and feelings and respond to them in a more positive way. This helps us improve our mental health and accept our negative thoughts without judgement. 

Mindful Based Therapy Treats: Anxiety, chronic pain, depression, and stress-related disorders. 

Mindful Based Therapy

SFBT is future-focused, emphasizing solutions rather than problems. It explores clients' strengths and resources to promote positive change.

SFBT Treats: Goal-setting, relationship issues, and enhancing coping skills.

Solutions Focused Brief Therapy

Trauma Informed Approach 

This approach recognises the widespread impact of trauma on individuals. It aims to create a safe and empowering therapeutic environment. 

Trauma Informed Approach Supports: PTSD, complex trauma, and mood disorders related to trauma.
