Hi there, I’m Tamika

I am the Director and Principal Psychologist of The Nurture Lounge Psychology Clinic. My aim as a psychologist is to provide a gentle, easy-going approach with a strong emphasis on empathy. I’m genuinely interested in your individual story and the life experiences that led you here. I recognise the incredible strength and courage it takes to seek support. Building a safe, trusting, and secure therapeutic relationship is, in my view, one of the most crucial aspects of working with a psychologist.

With a career spanning various settings - public hospitals, non-profits, and private practice; I offer a wealth of experience. Engaging with adults and older adults, my focus covers a broad spectrum of presenting problems, including anxiety, relationships, trauma, and chronic health conditions. I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society and uphold the highest standards of practice under the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.

I have expertise in the following areas:

Anxiety

Relationships & Intimacy

Self-Exploration & Identity

Trauma & Attachment

Stress & Burnout

Life Adjustments

Sleep

Grief and Loss

Chronic Health Conditions

Nurture yourself in the space where you feel most at ease — whether it's your couch, bed, car, or our welcoming face-to-face clinic.

My approach is based around person-centred and holistic care

Laughter is embraced

As an integral part of our therapeutic process, adding a touch of lightness to our exploration.

Holding space for you to explore

Maybe you’re feeling stuck, perhaps you are experiencing anxiety related to your relationship, or you are wanting to talk to someone who is completely non-bias. Whatever you are experiencing, I feel honoured to hold space to explore whatever comes up for you.

Listening deeply

Listening deeply is not just a skill; it’s a core value in my practice. I want to ensure that you feel truly heard and understood to ensure we are working at your pace. I like to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals through this process to ensure I am providing the best possible care.

Defining your goals

In the first session, we'll discuss your goals, offering a roadmap for our sessions. I value the trust you place in me and believe in the transformative power of non-judgemental, genuine connection. My aim is to help you navigate whatever season of life you are in, unravelling layers, and empowering you to reconnect with yourself and your values.

Connecting with what makes you, you

Majority of my practice is focused around developing a clear understanding of what makes you, you. I utilise an attachment-based and trauma-informed approach to help address gaps that prevent you from building nurturing relationships with yourself & loved ones. There are many different evidence-based modalities I draw upon within therapy such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) among others. I will always aim to tailoring our approach to your unique needs.
